4 Not to be Missed Pattaya Restaurants

Pattaya has some of the best restaurants to be found anywhere in Thailand, from a myriad of authentic Thai venues to a spectacular array of western and foreign outlets.

The main reason behind this is the fact that Pattaya has grown into such a multi cultural resort attracting visitors from far and wide that the restaurant industry has adapted to suit demand. Chefs from all over the world have been brought into Pattaya along with incredible Thai cooks from the four corners of Thailand.

There is no place other than perhaps Bangkok where a more diverse and exciting culinary scene can be found in the whole country.

Mata Hari

Thappaya Road – Open Tues – Sun

One of the best known and famous for consistently achieving high standards, Mata Hari has been established since 1996 serving contented diners with delicious food for nearly 20 years.

Top class European food along with a full Thai menu this restaurant offers everything you could want. On arrival there is a welcoming bar where you can sit and have a pre dinner aperitif and peruse the specials menu for that evening.

Some of the more tempting dishes include Raw Herrings, Escargot, Smoked Eel and Dutch Milk Fed Veal along with the more traditional steaks, fish and seafood.

Mata Hari is renown for its extensive wine list and the service is almost silver platter in every respect. It is a restaurant that makes an occasion special or just one of those places for a great meal.

Ruen Thai

Ruen Thai2nd Road Pattaya – Open 7 days

Located in the heart of Pattaya is Ruen Thai that offers both top cuisine and traditional Thai entertainment.

The food is a mix of high quality Thai and a full complement of International cuisine for the discerning diner. But Ruen Thai is better known for it’s authentic Thai dishes that are both delicious and good value for money.

Ruen Thai really comes to the fore when the entertainment starts and this is 7:40pm every night. If you have never seen traditional Thai dance and enjoyed the music then Ruen Thai is a perfect opportunity to do it as you enjoy your dinner.

The restaurant offers dining al fresco facing the stage or intimate tables located on a mezzanine floor. This is a true authentic Thai experience right in the heart of the city and should not be missed.

Toscana Trattoria

Beach Road – Open 7 days

Situated right on the beach road the location is absolutely perfect, just minutes walk away from Walking Street and everything Pattaya has to offer.

The Toscana is an iconic Italian restaurant with fantastic beachfront location and can easily be found with it’s familiar Leaning Tower of Pisa logo. The restaurant is simply huge and offers a separate Pizza dining area as well as formal indoor and outdoor al la carte areas. There is also a comfortable separate bar serving snacks, coffee and a wide range of drinks.

Toscana has a complete range of delicious Italian delights on the menu as well as Thai dishes to choose from. But it is on the speciality dishes that Toscana is famous for. The restaurant has it’s own farm and rears organic meat and vegetables and to compliment this fine array of produce the wine list is one of the best in Pattaya.

Some of the special platter dishes that come with an accompanying bottle of wine are well worth sampling. Guinea Fowl, Quail and Duck perfectly roasted and presented on a large platter of vegetables is a perfect main course for two or more people.

Toscana Trattoria has that typical rustic authentic feel that all Italian restaurants have but the difference is that it is situated on the Gulf of Thailand.

Blue Olive

Theppasit Road – Open 7 days

A jewel of a Mediterranean restaurant come bistro just off Threppasit Road Soi 8. A little difficult to find but once located never forgotten.

This is not a high society 3 star restaurant and it does not pretend to be so, but it is somewhere that is proud of it’s food, service and ambience. The open fronted kitchen is an example of the confidence in what and how the Blue Olive operates.

There is a small area outside for dining as well as a fully air conditioned interior. The menu offers interesting and slightly quirky created dishes based on a Mediterranean theme. Also there is a familiar Thai selection that is available and cooked to perfection.

Everyday the Blue Olive has a different set menu that is extremely good value, as is all the food and wine on offer at this intimate home from home.

If you are new to the area or thinking about renting or buying a condo in Pattaya then we hope that our restaurant guide will be useful.
